I had to post Abram's prayer from last night. Normally, I do the prayer or they like to just repeat after me. Last night, he said he was doing it by himself!
Abram's Prayer: Now I lay me down to sleep,
I play the Lord my soul to keep.
May Angels watch Abram with a sword
and wake him with a snore.
I couldn't help but to snicker a little. I told him that was great, but that I thought he may have got some words confused. He said that he didn't and that was what I said at night!! LOL I think tonight I will speak a little clearer! No matter the words, it is still precious!
Monkey Tales are the tales of two beautiful and wild little monkeys, Abram and Harlee. This blog is a way to keep track of all the funny, sweet and crazy things they do and say! My kiddos are sure to keep you entertained! Enjoy!

Father's Day 2011
The kids are so blessed to have such a loving a caring father. Abram and Harlee love their daddy so much! They have their weekend ritual, where mommy sleeps in and they take a wagon ride/bicicyle ride to the park and play with daddy! They also have their game nights, where they play Go Fishin', Hungry Hippos, matching games and do their favorite dinosaur puzzle! I play sometimes, but I try and let that be their thing with daddy. I get to spend every day doing something special with them, so I think it's important for all of them to have something that is just their special thing!
This Father's day, we got Stephen clothes and the kids made cards and we made him a crown and a certificate for being the greatest dad! We let him choose the restaurant Saturday night, he chose Hog Heaven BBQ, and it was yummy! We went to the beach to end Father's Day!
After going to eat for Father's Day dinner
His cards and crown and certificate!
Sunday, he slept in; while I made breakfast! He loves french toast and strawberry cheesecake, so I did strawberries and cream cheese stuffed french toast. He ate until he was almost sick! Later that day we went to the beach! The water was actually clean looking for once, and we found a sand bar that went out forever. We walked down it and the kids sat on the sand bar and let the waves knock them over! They had so much fun, especially Abram, who is normally scared to walk into the water! We were so proud of him, he actually relaxed and let himself have so much fun without worrying!! Harlee of course is a dare devil and thinks that she is invincible, so we don't have to worry about her having fun, we have to worry about her life!! haha
Daddy digging Harlee and Abram each a whole to play in!
We all had a wonderful Father's day weekend, and the kids and I are so thankful for Stephen!!

New Post- A & H
The kids have said and did a lot of funny things and not so funny things this week, hopefully I have remembered them all!!
Monday night our light in our room started smoking when we turned it on, so we hurry and turned it off and the kids and I went outside until Stephen figured out what was going on. Abram of course got very nervous. Once, he realized everything was ok he calmed down and asked it the light was smoking just like Papa Billy!! (shame on you Papa Billy!) I think it is so funny how little minds work.
Wednesday, Harlee had a doctor's appointment at 7:45. The kids were way hyper as usual and were very talkative! I could not get them to eat a good breakfast before we left, so they of course were hungry by this time. Abram announced very loudly that he was hungry for breakfast. I told him he should have eaten more and he would have to wait a little. He then announced loudly that his stomach was hurting because he was starving for food. He is so dramatic anyways, so when he started begging for food I just went on with my business. Normally, I get embarrassed easily, but not this time. I just sat back and watched as Abram put this "play" on. Once he realized I was just going to ignore him, he hushed. I gave them some raisins and told him I was just waiting on him to be quite and that he could have had them a long time ago; his response,"oh." Who knows if they are actually learning lessons, but I will keep trying! Once we got into the room, the guys taking Harlee's info got up to leave and I said thank you. Abram stands up and says in an Arabic accent "Thank you come again." Not once, but twice!(thank you Stephen) The guy got so tickled he just walked out! The doctor comes in a few minutes later and Abram begins to fake sleep walk while she is talking! Then, they both start acting like dinosaurs. I finally got them to calm down and sit still, so I could actually hear the doctor talk! Harlee was doing really well until she looked into her ears. She went to look in her ear while I was holding her and Harlee turned around and tried to slap the ear thing (ostoscope?? I think) out of her hands. I was trying to hold Harlee's head down and keep her hands down, but I wasn't strong enough, and she tried to slap it away again, this time slapping the doctor!! I don't think she actually got to see in her ears, but she said looks good!! This time I was embarrassed!! Luckily, I'm sure many kids have swatted at doctors, just wish it wouldn't have been mine! Haha
Thursday, the kids and I went to the park and had a picnic and played for a while. The kids love picnics, because I always pack their favorite things. So, we had dinosaur pb&j, cherries, and cereal mixed with marshmallows! They love cereal and marshmallows and would eat them all day if I let them!!
Thursday night, Stephen had school and he didn't get to come home for lunch that day either, so Abram was getting nervous. At dinner, when I sat in Stephen's chair, Abram asked what I was doing. I told him that daddy was still at work and was going through a drive-thu and then going to his history class. Abram looked up at me with a sad little face, and asked, "does daddy still live here?" Poor kid, his daddy missed lunch and supper and he was all upset! Later that night Harlee was playing in Abram's room and she got hurt. I went to check on her and I asked where she was hurt at. She looked at me as if I were the most dumb person ever and said, "In bubba's wroom." I didn't even try to explain myself! Harlee doesn't even have to say anything, her looks she gives say it all!! (she gets that from her daddy!) I also got told by Abram not even 5 minutes later that he could not help clean up toys, because his battery was low and his legs were not working too good!! The kids defeated me this night!
Friday, Stephen was off, so we went back to the park for another picnic and to play on the splash pad. The kids had a lot of fun and Abram made a friend right when he got there. It was that kid at the park that walks right up to you, grabs your hand and says do you want to be my friend and then immediately starts bossing you around! Abram looked at me, a little overwhelmed and says," he wants to be my friend, ok mommy." I said, "ok, have fun with that!" Harlee likes older kids and to follow her bubba around. She isn't to fond of kids her age. She likes to have fun all by herself usually or with mommy and daddy! The park also got another cute and tiny visitor, a raccoon! That little guy wasn't scared of anyone. He just wanted some food and then he was out of the way. He cam back three times for food out of the garbage can. He walked up right behind and beside people, jumped up on the can, got food and then left.
We ended Friday with movies and homemade white chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, and popcorn!
Saturday, we were suppose to go see Dora and Diego. We got to the mall a little early and there were already at least 200 people in line. I normally don't mind waiting for things, but I haven't been feeling too well and it hurt to walk or stand too long, plus Abram always backs out once we get there to actually meet a character. We saw them come out and before we even decided to leave, Abram said, " I don't want to see them!" Harlee looked at them and looked a little scared too, so we left. Once we got out to the car Harlee started crying, "I wanna see Doda!" I felt really bad, but it was too close to nap time and I knew she would not last 2 or 3 hrs in a line!
The kids favorite thing right now are mine and Stephen's old cell phones. We charged them up and they carry them around everywhere. Abram takes pictures of everything! He took pictures of clothes mannequins and the mall. He lost his phone at Surf Style and flipped out! Luckily, the cashier had it up front. I guess she thought we were starting our kids really young on phones! Harlee pretends to take pictures of herself with the phone and she is always talking to someone on it! Every time she would lose it, she would cry, "where my phone at?" She went to bed with it last night. I told her she better not be up late texting her boyfriend, she didn't know what I meant, but she still thought it was funny! I got a text Saturday night, and Abram said he got one too. I asked who it was from and he said Tada(aunt Talya) He said that it said, "I love you so much!" So sweet!! He also went to be with his phone!
Overall, it has been a great week despite the fact that the kids are fighting more and Harlee overuses the words no and uhuh. Here is to another week filled with love, fun and lots of laughs and the not so pleasant screams, crying, whining, and fighting!
